Welcome to Reading Lab

At Springhill Elementary, our Reading Lab provides targeted literacy support to help every student become a confident, successful reader. Using a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), we identify students who may benefit from additional reading instruction through multiple sources of data, including classroom assessments, teacher observations, and district benchmark measures.

Our credentialed reading specialist uses this data to design individualized and small group interventions that address student's specific learning needs. Students receive focused instruction in foundational reading skills such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Progress is monitored frequently to ensure students are making meaningful growth. We regularly review assessment data and adjust instruction as needed, allowing us to respond quickly and provide the right level of support at the right time.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure every student develops the essential reading skills needed to confidently access grade-level classroom instruction, engage in meaningful learning experiences, and become lifelong readers.
