Welcome to Second Grade
Hi! My name is Andee Pendrey, and I am excited to join the 2nd Grade team at Springhill. This is my 14th year of teaching, mostly in grades 1-3. I love watching students take off as readers as they begin to pursue their own interests. I also enjoy hearing each student’s voice come through in their writing. I have two grown children and a dog named Bingo. During the summer, my husband and I like to hike and travel. Here are some of my favorites. My favorite color is Green. I like Lions. In my free time, I like to play my guitar and sing. And, I love to read all of the Mercy Watson adventures. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
Hi! I'm Mrs. Phillips, and I'm so happy to be joining the Springhillcommunity. This is my 15th year as a classroom teacher, and I'm excited to work with a new group of students. I love read aloud time, watching the lightbulb turn on as students learn, and using innovative technology tools to engage all students. We'll start the year learning about the importance of having a growth mindset. We'll get to know each other through games and other fun activities for a smooth beginning. Looking forward to it!
I have been teaching in the Lafayette School District for 27 years. I previously taught 3rd and 4th grade at Burton Valley Elementary and spent last year working as a Curriculum Coach for the district. I missed being in the classroom greatly and am thrilled to return to it and teach second grade! My family and I enjoy time in Pacific Grove walking along the beach. We introduced Tae Kwon Do to or son and a few years later I also joined, discovering a new passion. I look forward to a great year of learning and growing together and I am proud to be a Springhill Scorpion.
