Welcome to Fifth Grade
Hello! I’m Sarah Dolphin…5th grade teacher here at Springhill. This 2024-2025 school year will be in 12th year teaching @Springhill and my 13th overall. With a passion for social studies and geography, and a HUGE appreciation for the unique ways in which 10/11 year olds grow up throughout their 5th grade year-I feel so grateful to work with a new group of students each year! Beyond teaching I enjoy coaching, hiking, swimming, exploring new places, reading, and spending time with my family & friends!
Hi Springhill! My name is Jen Roberts and I teach 5th grade. I am new to Lafayette and so excited to be teaching at Springhill! I started my teaching career in Kindergarten and them chose to challenge myself by learning something new and made the jump to 5th grade. I love the insight that students this age bring to the classroom and greatly enjoy the depth of rigor that 5th grade offers! In my free time you can find me spending time outdoors. I enjoy hiking, biking, running and camping. We have a puppy name Maisy and we love exploring new places. It is probably no surprise that as a teacher I am fond of books and reading. I am always looking to learn new things and for book recommendations You can always find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes! Let’s have a great year!
I grew up in Lafayette where I received my K-12 education in Lafayette School District. It is so exciting to now teach in my favorite community. I look forward to giving my students the same positive learning experience I received during my educational years. I am so grateful to come back full circle as a 5th grade teacher at Springhill. Prior to teaching, I earned my BA in Psychology and my Masters in Clinical Counseling, specializing in children and adolescents. I worked as a child and family therapist focused on children aged 5-13. It is my true passion to work with students and help them develop into confident lifelong learners. Beyond teaching, my husband and I enjoy going on bike adventures and spending time outdoors. I love reading, baking and visiting local coffee shops with friends. I am thrilled to soon meet my 5th grade students and their families.
